Blatchford develops and manufactures orthopaedic products and services designed to offer individuals the best possible mobility, function, comfort and cosmetics after amputation or other pathology. Our global network supplies prosthetic and orthotic products based on bio-mimetic design principles which work perfectly in sync with the human body. Our P&O clinicians also provide highly specialist treatment and rehabilitation in markets including the UK, Norway, Russia, India and the Middle East.
Blatchford employs over 800 people globally. The majority are specialised clinicians, technicians and design and development engineers who are supported by a global team.
Headquartered in Basingstoke, UK, our staff are distributed across the world and have a vast amount of expertise and exprience. The senior management ensures the organisation is run efficiently in each region so that we can focus our energies on helping individuals live happy and active lives.
We have two elements to our business; a Clinical Services Division which operates in the UK providing prosthetic, orthotic, special seating, wheelchair and environmental control systems within NHS clinics, to the military and through our private clinic. We also have a Products Division in which we design and manufacture award winning prosthetic components which are exported globally. The products business has offices in the USA, Germany, France, India and Russia plus a network of global distributors.
Blatchford sponsors a number of organisations and individuals to inspire and assist people with disabilities to be more active and to take part in life affirming projects. This year these include our sponsorship of the annual Amputee Games organised by LimbPower, in which 100 people get the opportunity to take part in competitive sports with top level coaches. We’re also providing sponsorship and a support team for Chris Moon to make a record attempt at the US Desert Cup, in which he must complete the Badwater Ultramarathon: 5 marathons back to back, across Death Valley and the 508 mile Furnace Creek bike race.
In 125 years of specialist rehabilitation and manufacturing, Blatchford has maintained a high level focus on breakthrough technologies and services. We work closely with the people who use our products and have a team of individuals, who wear our products, taking part in trials and teaching. We support improvements to rehabilitation services in developing countries by setting up joint venture clinics and providing specialist teaching for regional staff members. This cycle of communication between the users of our products and services and our team of specialists both informs and enhances everything we do.
