Blatchford launches Endolite élan foot at Ortho Reha in Leipzig
Posted on 24th May 2012
The élan foot, Endolite’s latest microprocessor controlled development was launched at this year’s Ortho Reha Technik in Leipzig. The élan attracted a great deal of interest from clinicians and amputees because it offers an innovative boost and brakeing system that enhances variable speed response and ensures toe lift during swing through. The sensing system allows the foot to gauge the level of ankle support or freedomn required at each stage of gait so that: going uphill the foot assists the movement of bodymass upwards and forwards and downhill the heel action softens to encourage knee extension to maintain good balance and posture.
The Endolite stand included daily demonstrations on élan, Orion and other products. A 3m specialist treadmill, running in reverse, provided continuous downhill ramp walking and allowed us to clearly demonstrate some of the benefits of the élan, echelon and our knee range.
Ortho Reha is the biggest International Conference for Prosthetics and Orthotics, it attracted 20,000 visitors from 93 countries: 65% German and 35% from other countries. 537 exhibiting companies: 50% German, utilising 42,000m² exhibition space in two exhibition halls.
The Endolite dinner party at the traditional Auerbachs Keller gave us the opportunity to host over 100 guests and friends in a convivial evening which brought together customers and colleagues from China, USA, Israel, Poland, Germany, Mexico, Panama, Switzerland and many other countries.
