We now have an exciting new opportunity for a Pre-Production Engineer, to join our New Product Development team based in Basingstoke and take a proactive role in introducing new products through discovery, trial, and pre-production phases.
You will use your skills, experience and enthusiasm to design and manufacture tooling, fixtures and jigs for new product assembly. You will liaise with the project champion, post design, manufacturing engineers, logistics and QA to facilitate a smooth transition of new products into production.
Responsibilities of the Pre-Production Engineer:
You will also have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills by deputising for the senior engineer when necessary.
Requirements of the Pre-Production Engineer:
Therefore the successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage priorities and take the lead, to inspire others. They will have a flexible and positive working style that encourages and motivates others and be ‘hands on’ and innovative in their approach. They will have strong attention to detail and problem solving skills with the ability to work to exacting standards.
Ideally you will be HND qualified with strong experience in a precision manufacturing environment, using CAD and CAM programming. Experience working in an R&D environment would be advantageous, although not essential. We are looking for someone who has an excellent understanding of jigs, fixtures and tooling for assembly processes that involve hydraulics and electronic controls.
However we would also welcome applications from candidates who are looking to start at trainee level who have the capability and desire to progress in an engineering role. We would consider trainees who have ‘hands on’ experience making things which require precision, either in a working capacity or as a hobby. Experience and skills in a ‘hands on’ role is essential, as the role requires the successful candidate to be comfortable designing and manufacturing tooling, fixtures and jigs for new product assembly.
In return, we offer a competitive salary package, with excellent benefits. This role really is a great opportunity for an engineer to work in a unique and highly specialised business and use your skills to really make a difference.
If this sounds like the right role for you and you are an ambitious ‘hands on’ engineer, please don’t hesitate to apply by sending your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org or for more information please contact the recruitment team on the same email.
