Blatchford is a world leading rehabilitation provider with clinical expertise in prosthetics, orthotics, special seating and wheelchairs. We design and manufacture the multi award-winning Endolite range of lower limb prostheses and provide clinical services to the NHS, military and patients internationally. With 128 years of innovation and expertise behind us, we produce the world’s most advanced microprocessor artificial limbs.
We are now looking for a Dual Practicing Orthotist / Prosthetist to work as an integral part of our dynamic, specialist team based at the Rehabilitation Centre in Charing Cross Hospital.
While your main focus will be Orthotics, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the provision of the Prosthetic service in the centre. So this is a great opportunity for a Prosthetist/Orthotist to further develop their clinical career and gain exposure across both disciplines, working closely with a strong MDT to deliver the very best care to a wide variety of patients, including trauma patients. This role would really suit an experienced Orthotist looking to gain experience in prosthetics to further develop as a dual practicing clinician.
Working in this busy specialist rehabilitation centre, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a complex range of patients, collaborate in ground-breaking R&D projects with our award winning team in Basingstoke and use the latest technology including CAD CAM. You’ll provide and promote a high standard of prosthetic and orthotic care and treatment across a range of amputation levels and patient pathologies ensuring best practice is always applied.
The Orthotist / Prosthetist will maintain up to date knowledge of available components and products, and have a good understanding of their functions, to ensure well-fitting prostheses and orthoses. You’ll need to be flexible and innovative in their approach and work to the highest professional standards, with care and integrity, to maintain our excellent reputation and ensure full patient satisfaction.
Applicants must be degree qualified in Prosthetics/Orthotics and HCPC registered (graduates who are awaiting confirmation of registration can still apply). A D&BS check will be carried out for the successful applicant and any job offer will be dependent upon its results.
Ideally, candidates will have post qualification experience in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics. Importantly, you’ll be a forward thinking Orthotist / Prosthetist with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care, managing the individual patient’s case, to deliver the most appropriate and effective treatment. You’ll also have the desire to deliver an exceptional patient led service and to further develop and progress with an excellent employer.
We also welcome applications from recent graduates who have some experience of working in a busy centre. We have a structured graduate training program in place to support your transition from academic study to practical application in a working role.
So if you are an ambitious Orthotist / Prosthetist with a keen interest in working in a dual practicing role and you are looking for a new challenge, with an industry leading employer, we want to hear from you!
