We design and manufacture the multi award-winning Endolite range of lower limb prostheses and provide clinical services to the NHS, military and patients internationally. With 128 years of innovation and expertise behind us, we produce the world’s most advanced microprocessor artificial limbs.

We are now looking for a Materials Manufacturing Manager to lead, develop and motivate our materials manufacturing team based in our industry leading manufacturing site in Basingstoke. 

This is an excellent new opportunity to work with a highly skilled manufacturing team responsible for the manufacture of award winning prosthetic products that are shipped around the globe, as part of a rapidly growing organisation.

You will have the opportunity to proactively develop the materials manufacturing area to support company growth and used your skills and experience to drive the performance of the team.  

As a Materials Manufacturing Manager with Blatchford, you role will include:

  • Leading the team, ensuring that available resource is managed effectively to ensure throughput, productivity is maximized, and that equipment is appropriately utilized.
  • Ensuring that the operation complies with all legislation concerning Health and Safety and Employment.
  • Following the Blatchford employment policies and procedures to actively support the development of the Materials Manufacturing Team through mentoring, coaching and training.
  • Managing the team’s performance including giving regular feedback, carrying out PDRs, informal reviews, conducting disciplinaries, hearing grievances and being involved in recruitment as and when required.
  • Establishing product quality standards, implement and ensure quality control to meet objectives.
  • Evaluating production and quality control to detect and correct problems.
  • Managing projects to drive improvement and/or resolve issues impacting H & S, Quality and/or Throughput.
  • Liaising with “Supply Chain” and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication for issues impacting delivery.
  • Preparing and maintaining production reports.


The successful candidate will be self-motivated, with the ability to work on their own initiative to achieve deadlines and targets. They will have a flexible, innovative approach and a positive working style, with strong attention to detail.

This is an exciting and challenging role for a pro-active individual, who has experience of leading a team in a manufacturing environment. We welcome applications from experienced managers who are looking for a new challenge or experienced leaders who are looking to step up into a management role.

We are ideally looking for someone who has a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings, ideally working in a regulated industry, such as aerospace or automotive; although this is not essential.  

This is a full time, permanent role; working hours are 36.5 hours per week on Monday to Friday. In return, we offer a competitive package, excellent benefits, including an early finish on a Friday.
