Manufacturing Technician – EMU/FPU

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Technician, to join our Polymer Products/Elastomeric team based within the Manufacturing division in Basingstoke.

This is an exciting and challenging role for a proactive individual who thrives in a manufacturing environment.

As a Manufacturing Technician, you’ll work within a highly experienced team of technicians to develop skills to enable you to manufacture specific components to expert quality standards.

You’ll need to be focused and flexible in your approach, and able to operate in a high pressure environment. You will be a reliable team worker with excellent communication skills and be able to be trusted to complete tasks accurately and to deadline. You will be committed to manufacturing components to the highest standards and will use these skills to:

  • Assembly of mechanical components
  • Moulding components using various polymers
  • Bonding various components
  • Self-inspection
  • Working to drawings and/or work instructions
  • Operate foam process machines to produce moulded prosthetic feet
  • Adjust shot times to suit size and weight of feet
  • Safe and efficient machine maintenance
  • Complete and understand relevant documentation
  • Ensure good housekeeping – maintain a tidy workstation
  • Efficient trimming of polymer flashing from prosthetic foot
  • Assembly of parts and kits
  • Packing/boxing of products ready for distribution
  • Assist in the training of others to reach a proficient quality and production standards
  • May be required to undertake glove moulding & preparation when required

Ideally, the successful applicant will be dexterous and be able to maintain close attention to detail . They will maintain high standards when working to varying deadlines and specifications and will take responsibility for their own quality of work. Previous experience moulding with polymer would be advantageous but not essential.

This is a permanent position and as standard the core working hours are 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. In return, we offer a competitive salary package, excellent benefits and the opportunity to work as part of a highly specialist and experienced team.
