Blatchford Private Clinic - Prosthetic Services

The most critical element in any prosthesis is the fit and comfort of the socket interface with the body. Our Prosthetists have specialist training in socket design and keep up to date with developments in shape and liner technology for the best possible fit. Component choice will promote excellent safety, comfort and functionality and include the best international component selections so you can get on with the activities you wish to do. Cosmetic finishing can be simple, if you like to keep the technology on view, or very lifelike should you prefer matched colour tones and skin detail.

Clinical outcomes can be greatly improved when combined with a tailored programme of rehabilitation, helping the client return, as near as possible, to their pre-injury level of independence. Clients will benefit from swift provision of their prosthetic or orthotic device whilst receiving daily therapy sessions to maximise their mobility, independence and general well-being. Visit our Residential Rehab pages for more information.

Blatchford Clinic has partnered with Integrum and LIPS to offer rehabilitation services following the recent launch of osseointegration surgery at the London Clinic Hospital. Following amputation, prosthetic limbs are traditionally attached to the body via a prosthetic socket. This works well in many cases however, some people experience difficulties such as excessive sweating, pain and general discomfort. Osseointegration offers a surgical method to directly attach the prosthesis to the bone via an implant, thus eliminating the need for a prosthetic socket. Visit the osseointegration page for more information.
