The new Long-term Ambulatory Monitor, LAM, is a continuous activity monitor that gathers
step information over a one-year period. The unit is discretely located within the shin tube
where it monitors the amputee’s daily step count. The output provides a graphical overview
of day-by-day walking activity and can be used for assessing the effectiveness of the prosthetic
prescription.
