Our central fabrication facility in Sheffield manufactures the full range of custom made products. The key products within the range are:

• Insoles These are a growing range with traditional hand crafted designs complemented by a high proportion of devices moulded and manufactured using the latest CADCAM technology.
	• Moulded Splints As well as using traditional plaster models for the fabrication of orthoses we now produce foam models generated by computer modelling and model carving machines, which significantly reduces the time to manufacture the splints. • Metalwork Our highly skilled engineers benefit from investment in the latest technology to ensure accurate assembly of hinged orthoses. This is critical to the function and safety of weight bearing devices used by patients with lower limb weakness.
• Special Seating An expanding part of the service we provide within our business is the assessment and production of special seats for patients with complex disabilities. These benefit from leading edge design and we can supply a full range of modular and custom seating solutions.

Other products manufactured, which provide customised patient solutions, include our fabric supports and shoe adaptations.

	• Precision Technicians and clinicians communicate and work closely together to ensure devices are produced accurately and quickly to deliver a right first time approach. Quality monitoring of our performance has consistently demonstrated a 97% plus ‘right first time score’ for our customised products.
• Repeatability Thorough our investment in CADCAM processes, insoles and orthoses can be accurately and reliably replicated from the electronic storage of body shape data. This significantly reduces the need for patient appointments when ordering repeat prescriptions.
	• Training Our technicians are trained to the highest standards. As part of this commitment we have an NVQ scheme in place to accredit the required competencies, and to support this process, Blatchford have eight qualified NVQ assessors.
Our orthotic central fabrication facility is based in the city of Sheffield, in close proximity to the M1 motorway, offering access to all other major road networks. It is from here that all our customised products are manufactured and ready-made products warehoused ready for distribution. Goods are then dispatched by our logistics department to our customers and clinicians throughout the UK and Eire. Our customer service centre and orthotic clinical management services are also based at this facility.
