Blatchford Clinical Services inaugurate new Sheffield premises

Celebrating the establishment of a new premises to house our expanding Clinical Services Business, Blatchford welcomed the
Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Dr Sylvia Dunkley to unveil the commemorative plaque highlighting the event at 30 Atlas Way.

Guests from the industry, NHS, and clinical services customers were invited to join in the celebrations by attending for an open day
at which they toured the old and new factories to see the activities involved in the manufacture of high tech. orthotic and wheelchair
products and bespoke items for NHS patients.

 


They were given an introductory presentation by Ken McCrea and then toured the two units with demonstrations of distributed
products, production planning, plastics, moulding, machine room, footwear, metal work, customer services, CADCAM, insoles, the
clinical facilities, prosthetic manufacture, seating and upholstery. There were also prosthetic demonstrations of the laest carbon fibre
and electronic limbs on the treadmill and gait analysis systems.

The Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Dr Sylvia Dunkley toured the facility between 12.00 noon and 1.45pm on only her third day as
Lord Mayor (and on her birthday). It was only her second official engagement. She toured with Stephen Blatchford, Mrs Joyce
Blatchford and Adrian Stenson. The Lord Mayor seemed to really enjoy the visit and commented on the passion of the staff she met
on the factory floor and the strong history of the company.
 
 
Over 120 guests and visitors signed in for the event and provided extremely positive feedback on the great
enthusiasm that came across from the demonstrators about what we do and how important it is to “get it right” for
our patients and service users.
