A group of clinicians and technicians from Private Prosthetics Clinics across the UK arrived at the Endolite Institute at Blatchford on the 11th May to look at some of the latest developments in top of the range prosthetic limb systems. A number of amputees from the clinics took part in an active day of fittings and product reviews.
The Echelon Foot, EliteVT Foot and new microprocessor knee developments played an integral part. The seminar gave UK clinicians a unique opportunity to hear personal verdicts direct from amputees trying the systems for the first time. The feet, having attracted universal acclaim in the US, were given wholeheartedly positive reviews by the UK amputee group and the technology looks set to become an established part of UK Private Clinic prescription.
The day provided an excellent opportunity to understand the particular requirements of these clinics for new products. The resulting discussion provided a unique insight into the development needs for prosthetics in the private sector
