Spring got off to a lively start for Blatchford when we won the Best Stand in the Exhibition at the 2007 BAPO Conference. At the show we launched our new Esprit foot and celebrated our commitment to customer care and innovation with an engaging Wii bowling competition.
BAPO members and exhibitors flocked to the stand to take part and compete against friends and colleagues. Name positions on the magnetic board were fought over with adrenalin filled anticipation and there were even a few mini competitions running between the teams at particular centres! Michael O’ Byrne was an early leader and set a high target score but in the final hours Paul Ford won the game with a fantastic score of 217 points. The pictures show Paul receiving the Nintendo Wii games console prize from Ben Blease, Blatchford Marketing Manager.
Prosthetists spent time on the stand checking out the Esprit Foot, the latest low profile prosthetic foot for all activities, whilst Orthotists had the opportunity to view our new Paediatric, Podiabet and Azure Modular shoe ranges.
Blatchford staff, Leslie Depper and John Ross, are shown presenting papers on Clinical Audit as a means of raising the standards in prosthetics and Ischial Socket Containment. On Friday afternoon Saeed Zahedi took part in a lively seminar on the use of microprocessor technology in current prescription practices, with substantial audience participation which seemed to show a need for a balance between perceived functionality improvements and product cost. I imagine that this argument is one that will keep us all occupied for the foreseeable future.
